Suggest Treatment For Cocaine Addiction

Hallo, so i have been dating a cocaine user ( i am 22 and he is 27) for about 8 months or more and he told me this 2 or 3 weeks before Eve. He said he wants to stop it and he went to a doctor and i think he succeeded. He said he didnt take any for more than 3 weeks. But i am not convinced. I am afraid he will return to it and lie about that. I really do like him but i am not willing to accept that in our relationship. He is a good person but this addiction wont let me get closer to him and know him well. This is not good for both of us and i find it a big trouble . By the way he told me he has been dealing with it a year ago this means around late 2016 or maybe later and he was taking it once a week. I searched about this in google and tried to find the solutions. And i am even willing to break up with him if he Continues with it though i love him a lot. I wish you can advise of what i or he can do. I will apreciate your help

Hello,

There is not a quick fix. Most people with cocaine addiction stop using.

Having consequences, having a supportive life structure, and certainly realizing it is bad for you are important helps on coming off of it.

Drug testing for it can determine if it is there but there can be false results. Some antidepressants look a lot like cocaine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
