Suggest Treatment For Adenoid

Hello,

My dad was diagnosed with Adenoid Cyctic Carcinoma about a month ago. The tumor, located in his skull behind his eye was deemed inoperable. The tumor has "feelers" that is is sending along the nerves towards the brain stem. My dad refuses any radiation or chemo. I am wondering what his prognosis is with a cabbage diet. I know that he will die with this treatment only, but I am just trying to prepare myself by knowing when. Does he have nine months? Five years? How long--on average--do people live with this cancer?

Hello and thank you for your question. Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma is a rare kind of cancer. It usually has a slow progression and most patients with this type of tumor live for 5 years or longer. Of course it depends upon how long he has had the tumor before he was diagnosed but still the survival with this type of cancer is very good. I do not know that the cabbage diet will help lengthen his life but he has an excellent chance for many more years of life. Best wishes to you and your father. Thank you for using HCM.
