Suggest Topical Medication For Strengthening Fingernails

My fingernails are splitting back, sort of peeling off at the end causing them to be thin and break. I used to have strong nails 2-3 yrs ago. I am wondering if it may be caused by Methoxsalen 30mg,along with the light Treatment taken for TX of vitiligo, tx which began two and a half yrs. ago. I have taken Biotin OTC for well over a yr. , with no improvement. Is there a topical product that could strengthen my nails? Thank you.

Hello,

Splitting of nails can occur due to iron deficiency. I suggest you to get iron studies - iron and ferritin to know the status of iron stores in body. Iron deficiency and ferritin levels lower than 40 ng/mL can lead to splitting and breaking of nails.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
