Suggest Substitute Medication For Diazepam 10mg

I am having some oral surgery done in the morning. I was prescribed 10mg diazepam to take tonight by my dentist, along with some other meds to begin taking at 8:30 in the morning. I picked up several prescriptions on Saturday, and did not realize until after the pharmacy had closed that my meds called in by my dentist were not included in the bunch. They were closed yesterday, and today for Labor Day. I take clonazepam for MS issues. I know that they are both in the same family of drugs, but I do not know what dosage to substitute. My prescription is for .5mg Clonazepam tablets. What would be the equivalent dosage to 10mg diazepam?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Drugs like diazepam are routinely given in the night before surgery to get adequate sleep in the ore op day and to prevent anxiety.
If you are already on clonazepam, no additional drugs required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
