Suggest Remedy To Overcome Depression Due To Personal Loss

Hi my Mom passed away in March, and my Dad is still having a terrible time. He needs someone to talk to, I think more than my brothers an I can do for him. We have been to the church and they cannot help for acouple more weeks. Also, North East hospice has a program....but they don t meet in June & July. We understand after 62 plus years together it s very hard. But he is on depression meds, and seeing a family Doc, but there needs to be more. Thanks, Sandy

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Such scenarios are common and bereavement is the ultimate stress. Definitely it will take some time to adjust with the situation. For some it may take years or for some one who is creative, some months. So being creative and active is the key. For being creative and active, the person should be motivated. Your father needs motivation and a professional psychological counselor will do it. You can also attempt, but that may not be much effective.
