Suggest Remedy For Tooth Socket Post Tooth Extraction

I had a lower molar removed 6 days ago. Yesterday, on the fifth day, I believe the blood clot became dislodged as I now have an open hole where the blood clot was. I am in no pain. Am I at risk for dry socket? Also, I believe the blood clot became dislodged when bit down on something not so soft. What can I expect next?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain if you can see an open hole from where tooth was extracted it means that the newly forming tissue has dislodged from the socket leaving a hollow space behind.

Most commonly the clot gets dislodged within 24 hours of extraction but if proper safety measures are not followed as advised by dentist it can dislodge at a later stage..

If the clot is dislodged you are definitely at a risk of developing of DRY SOCKET, although you do not have pain but you should note that the pain mostly appears after 3 to 4 days of clot dislodgement..

I would suggest you to consult your dentist and if the clot is dislodged the dentist will place ZINC OXIDE EUGENOL dressing into the socket which will initiate healing as well as prevent from inflammation and pain..

You should not delay to avoid future discomfort and pain..

Also I would suggest you to keep the area clean and avoid food lodgement in that place...

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
