Suggest Remedy For Tingling And Numbness In Fingers Of Both Hands

Hi, Over the past few months I have had tingling and numbness in my fingers of both hands. I usually wake with one or both hands affected but it also happens randomly throughout the day or evening. At first I thought it was due to sleeping on a nerve but I seem to get it more and more during the day as well as when I wake in the mornings. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks Annette (I am a 56 year old female)

Hi
Thanks for your query
After going through your description of suffering the most likely treatable cause is- Carpal tunnel syndrome that is nerve (Median) compression at wrist. This leads to numbness and tingling sensation in thumb, index finger and difficulty in doing fine work. May be confirmed by nerve study (EMG/NCV).
The definitive treatment is small surgical procedure in which the tissue causing nerve compression is released. Meanwhile you can give her tricyclic antidepressant like pregablin after having a word with your local doctor.
Take care and I shall be glad to answer any further query
