Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Infection At The Site Of Insect Bite

I believe I was bite by a bug. About a week later my bug bite got big red and swollen then eventually turned into a nasty pus filled cut (wound). What can I use to clean my cut, I tried Alcohol and that seem to work then my mom told me to use dettol to clean it also, it has since then reduced in size and swelling but the cut and some pus is still there. Should I just go to my doctor to make sure this bite is not infected?

clean it and apply beta dine lotion. do dressing in same line as wound.clean with sterile swab. and apply beta dine lotion. can take levocetrizine 5mgtablettwice daily. take ezythrocin 500mg daily for three days.
