i have had my tonsils removed about two and a half months ago and have had a sore throat feeling the past few weeks. i investigated the back of my mouth to find that it looks like my tongue has healed to the skin where my tonsils were removed. discoloration of skin where they are connected and looks infected. is this even possible?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it's possible, swab examination can tell need of medicine but prophylactically 5 days Ampicillin is advisable, betadine gargles few times a day, little bit immunity is effected after tonsillectomy, learn some breathing exercises like sky or yoga makes less chances to be sick or sore throat.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
