Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of road rash, my treatment advice is -
1. Clean the lesion with plain water and povidone iodine twice daily.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and antihistamine like levocetrizine for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
