Hello, You are experiencing severe pain in your arm. You can also sense pain arising from a spot where there is a small lump. Lumps may be caused by infection, inflammation or trauma, these are are usually temporary and subside when the cause is treated. Some lumps are caused by a buildup of the protein keratin, which can plug a hair follicle, resulting in a bump. Applying ice packs and elevating the area can reduce inflammation and ease pain. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are injury / trauma, cervical spinal stenosis, elbow dislocation, nerve compression / entrapment, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all required tests and investigations done, you may be asked to get a biopsy done to stay on the safer side. You will be accordingly treated and can be referred to a Neurologist for further management. Stay away from addictions if any. Reduce stress, do not drive for a couple of days. In the meantime , you can take Combiflam or Naproxen, one stat when pain for relief. You can also apply pain relieving ointment gently on the area affected, do not massage. Take care.
