hi doctor, hi have got this severe acne problem for 1 year now and have been taking isotretnoin for six months but just after stopping the medication i have developed redness and acne back on my skin and have severe hair growth and weighlose and depression. i shifted to new zealand a year ago when i started to notice the symptoms. if it is related. what do i do?
You said you have acne off and on.I can understand your concern for recurring acne on the face and back.
Remember that acne is a recurring disease. So, have treatment for long time with patience. It may be precipitated or exacerbated by many factors. There may be genetic influence.
You have to reduce anxiety related to acne. Have positive attitude.
The relapses of acne lesions may be there even during treatment. Still you may continue treatment for few months.
I would like to suggest following line of treatment for acne vulgaris
- antibiotics like minocycline or azithromycine in proper dose - isotretinoin in low dose - clindamycine or benzoyl peroxide gel - cleansing the face with antiseptic facewash
Have patience for the good result.
