Suggest Remedy For Severe Acid Reflux And Diarrhea

Hi There My husband has been sick since Dec 27th with extreme gas pain in the stomach and initially diarrhea. We have tried antacids from the pharmacy but the pain is persisting. Last night is the 1st time he has slept. But, today the pain continues. At 1st we thought food poisoning but everyone ate the same foods. Not sure whats up. He had complained a few weeks ago a painful belly button and pain to the left of it. Any thoughts. Email address YYYY@YYYY All help appreciated. Ronda

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe acid reflux and diarrhea which seems to be due to excessive production of acid due to release of esophageal sphincters. It could be due to disturbed electrolyte imbalance in body. Need not to worry. You should do exercise daily. You should keep bed slightly higher on head side. I would suggest you to eat light and non spicy , take small and frequent meals , take light walk after every meal and take antacid after every meal. You should avoid intake of outside food. Consult gastroenterologist for proper checkup. Doctor may prescribe H2 blocker or proton pump inhibitor along with sucralfate.
