Suggest Remedy For Reddish Bump Around Pubic Area

hi i have a redish bump around my pubic region. doesnt seem like any STD or STI (papule/ lesion).the bump feels like a soft tumor/swelling that i can squeeze - and kinda hurt - and is able to move around a little. could it be an ingrown hair follicle which has been infected / produced pus?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Seems like an ingrown hair to me. Shaving too closely or against the grain or without properly moisturising before shaving are some of the factor that can lead to a problem of ingrown hair.

If you were at my clinic, I would have treated you empirically with an oral antibiotic; either one from penicillin group of drugs (cloxacillin or flucloxacillin) or cephalosporin group of drugs (cefadroxil or cephalexin).
These are prescription drugs, therefore, you must ask for a prescription of one of these from your physician.

Topically you may use an OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin cream, twice daily.

An OTC pain killer would provide you symptomatic relief from pain and swelling.
Don't squeeze it, as you might pust it deeper

Regards
