Suggest Remedy For Recurring Ear Infections

I had an ear infection a two months ago, I had a follow up appointment(because I still had pain and fullness in ear) that showed resolved infection but retraction of the eardrum. I tried fluids, mucinex and advil- but still was woken up last night with ear pain. What do you think might be going on? How do I follow up? d

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an ear infection. I see through the query that you have already used Mucinex, fluids and Advil. In my opinion, you should take a cycle of antibiotics to treat the infection. I also suggest using an antibiotic ear drop for local application.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
