Suggest Remedy For Problem In Gripping

I play softball and over a month ago, I was swinging the bat and felt and instant pain in my left hand halfway through my swing. It felt like my bones in my hand between the middle and pinky finger crushed each other. After grabbing the bat again, I noticed I could not grip it very well. I thought this would go away after a couple of days but it seems to be getting worse. my grip with my ring finger and pinky are very weak. Can you help me understand what might have happened?
