Suggest Remedy For Pressure Under Ribs

My boyfriend has had pressure under his ribs for two days. He said it feels like a gas bubble and it makes it hard to breath. Burping doesn't help. Every time he burps it hurts from the center of his chest to his right shoulder. He said he's had a gas bubble there before but it was never this bad.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to Bloating.

Some advice that I can give to you is:

- Use simethicone medication
- Avoid chewing gum
- Limit your intake of carbonated drinks
- Avoid foods that cause gas, such vegetables in the cabbage family, dried beans, and lentils
- Eat slowly and avoid drinking through a straw
- Use lactose-free dairy products

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
