Suggest Remedy For Persistent Sore Throat

Hello, I have had a persistent sore throat for the past month or so. There are orange areas and my throat looks veiny. It also feels like it s raw, like I ve burnt my throat. I ve tried some remedies, gargling and cough drops, nothing has changed it. I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and they tested me for strep but it came back negative. They prescribed me an antibiotic and some magic swizzle to help with the pain. Nothing has changed and the pain is starting to annoy me. I m starting to worry if I ve caught something. I haven t noticed any other symptoms really other than I have lost some weight.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in throat along with orange areas and burnt feeling in throat can be due to causes like Chronic bacterial or viral throat infection, post nasal drip, acid reflux etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture, pH levels of throat and blood tests along with upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of infection antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, warm saline gargles and steam inhalations can be advised..
In case of acid reflux, Pantoprazole, Omeprazole and antacids along with diet modifications can be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
