Suggest Remedy For Persistent Pain In The Tooth Post Cavity Filling

On June 01 my daughter had a cavity fixed that was near the gum line. Her dentist cauterize her gums to fill the cavity. Her face is still swollen and she is in pain still. What can we do. She already takes 800mg ibuprofen and at night to take tylenol with codeine. Her pain is spreading to the top of her jaw and into her head.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain if there is severe pain after a tooth filling is done there are chances that there must be deep cavity made to remove the decay and retain the filling and in that case there must be exposure of the nerves and blood vessels present in the centre of the tooth in a small chamber known as "PULP CHAMBER" and when the nerves are exposed the filling material causes irritation to the nerves known as PULPITIS causing severe pain which can radiate to the entire jaw on same side and can radiate upto eye and head..

I would suggest you to consult your dentist and get an Xray done to rule out the exact reason for pain and if it is due pulpitis removal of the filling under local anesthesia and Root canal treatment of the tooth followed ny antibiotics and painkillers can relieve the problem..

Hope this information helps..
