Suggest Remedy For Persistent Dry Cough

I have developed a cough that refuses to go. 2 weeks now. It doesn t appear to be coming from my lungs, rather higher up in my chest. Sometimes I cough so much I can t breath in. I am a non smoker. My cough is non productive although there is lots of rattling.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you had a recent cough/cold, then the cough may be post viral cough. This is a cough that remains after the other symptoms of cough and cold resolve.

It can last up to 6 weeks.

IF this is not the case then the cough may be due to post nasal drip or reflux, these are 2 of the more common causes of persistent cough.
Post nasal drip is most common and is treated with oral antihistamines and nasal sprays.

I hope this helps
