Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed I had a small pimple on my labia, I didn t think anything of it since I shave completely the day before. 3 days later it is like the size of a pea, I put a hot wet towel then tea tree oil (diluted w/ water) but it doesn t seem like it s working. The lump/pimple is painful! Should I continue putting tea tree oil for another couple of days? Or go to my GYN? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Painful pimples on labia could be due to boils or furunculosis (inflammation of hair follicle). The application of wet towel or tea tree oil will not help. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and prescription of antibiotic. There can be pus collection in the pimple, however, nothing to worry. Pus collection can occur due to infection. You can take pain killer if pain is intense and intolerable.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
