Suggest Remedy For Painful Bumps

I got a small cut like a paper cut after swimming in a pool a few days ago and the next day it was red and swollen so I cleaned it with alcohol and put on antibiotic ointment and a bandage which I have been repeating twice daily. The redness and swelling have gone away but at on end of the cut is a bump that is painful to tue touch. It doesn t seem to have any fluid in it and I am fairl certain that no foreign object got in. What could the bump be and should I go to a doctor?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that there is an infection in the area of the wound and the symptoms of bump and pain seems to be due to it..
The bump can be due to Hematoma formation and it will resolve gradually and you need to clean the wound with antiseptic solution and apply a combination of Steroid and antibiotic ointment over it..
You can also take a short course of antibiotics and Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Do cool compresses over the wound..
In case of no improvement consult a General Physician and get evaluated..
