Suggest Remedy For Pain In The Knee Due To An Injury

I have a very sharp pain on the front outside of my right knee when I try to kneel. I fell about a month ago on some ice. The pain has been gradually getting worse. Walking usually is pain free but I have noticed an increasing awareness of the area of discomfort. It is not getting better. What should I do?
