Suggest Remedy For Pain In Kneecap Due To Fluid Retention

What do I do to relieve the pain of fluid behind knee cap? I am having difficulty sitting or standing up from a sitting position I cannot sleep at night due to horrible pain. I am a nurse and have tried a brace and NSAIDS and ultram. nothing seems to work.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Thank you for posting your query at healthcaremagic.com

I advise you to consult an orthopedic doctor and get further investigation done.
Apart from this, I advice you-
- avoid prolong standing or sitting in one position.
- If you are over weight try to reduce the weight
- Comfortable walking shoes are advisable
- Knee strengthening and stretching exercises with proper warm up and cool down phase
- swimming, brisk walk etc. can be done on regularly
- ice pack and anti inflammatory drugs around the knee joint will reduce the inflammation and pain.

Hope you find this informative.
If you need any further details, please feel free to contact me.

With best wishes,
Dr. Tehzib Saiyed
