Suggest Remedy For Pain In Hip Post Injury

I was making a slide into home plate in our softball league and leap over the tag. when I came down i landed hard on my hip. I was able to finish playing (in pain). Once we finished I could barely walk the next two days. Then, probably 4-5 days later its started bruising really bad. Now, a week and a day after the incident, i still have pain and bruising is not fading away.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I recommend you to request an X-ray of the hip bone from your GP to rule out underlying fracture. You might consider taking pain medication like Ibuprofen 400 mg thrice a day in meantime. Avoid massaging the injured and apply some cold compress when needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef, General & Family Physician
