Suggest Remedy For Pain And Soreness In Upper Arm

I recently injured my upper arm when I slipped on stairs and grabbed the banister to catch myself. Since then, I have difficulty raising my arm when it s flexed--there is weakness and pain that is over the anterior mid-upper arm. I also have the same problem if I try to extend the arm outward from my side. If I flex at the elbow and lift the elbow up, no problem or extend the arm and raise at the shoulder, no problem.Any ideas? Any recommendations for best way to treat?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely a rotator cuff injury. I suspect injury to supraspinatus tendon from rotator cuff. A physical examination with an orthopedic surgeon is well appreciated. MRI of shoulder will be required to confirm it also in case of positive findings in clinical examination. If the injury is severe and compromising your shoulder movements then a correction surgery is advised. If it is mild then analgesics and muscle strengthening exercises will help to recover from the problem.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
