My husband had hernia surgery 4 weeks ago. About 10 days after the surgery he started having pain in his rectum then he developed pus coming out the rectum we thought it was hemorrhoids at first then he went back to his medical doctor and he stated it was not hemorrhoids it looked like an infection. We then went to see the surgeon he put my husband on Flagyl for 12 days and he is not getting better. I took him to the ER last week they sent him home and gave him more Flagyl and increased the dose an additional 4 times a day instead of 3 times a day. He is still having the discharge from the rectum still heavy. He goes back to the doctor Monday but I am very concerned this are not getting better. He was not checked for Mersa at any time.
