Suggest Remedy For Numbness In Leg Post Treatment For Herniated Disc
9/2012 l held a heavy child on my left hip and felt pain shortly after. It was a l4 l5 herniated disc with sciatica down left leg. Pain was unbearable, but continued to work. I received physical therapy, chiropractic and finally two cortisone injections (which finally helped the extreme pain). 21/2 years later, I am experiencing numbness down my left leg all the way to a knot in the arch of my foot. I received a cortisone shot, but it didn t help much. Now I am told a microdiscectomy will be a good approach? I am also showing a slight lumbar scoliosis in xrays. Will the surgery help after all this time?
Disc herniation can be surgically treated well these days and produces good results. Your symptoms of numbness indicates nerve compression which may subside with other modalities of treatment temporarily however, the permanent cure is to go for surgery. I am sure your will get relief with it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
