In my view, home made solid food is the best choice to improve weight of the child. Try to give mashed potato, mashed sweet potato, soft cooked rice, oats, boiled and shred chicken, steamed carrots, butter sauteed green peas and fresh fruits.
In addition, introduce her to various dairy products like cheese and yogurt. Some children catch up a bit late to gain weight, but a healthy diet will ensure building strong immune system of your child.
Apart from the diet, make sure to give your child
ORS fluid, when she is passing too many lose stools to prevent
dehydration. Moreover, the child must be suffering with self limiting viral
diarrhea which will subside on its own, the only thing to do is give ORS fluid.
