General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The cough and cold can last a week to 10 days. The cough can sometimes continue even after the other cold symptoms have resolved.

The main treatment for the cold is supportive (medication to help ease symptoms), unfortunately there is no curative medication.

She needs to rest and drink fluids in addition to taking her medication.

I hope this helps
