Suggest Remedy For Ingrown Toenail

I had an infected ingrown toenail that had to be removed last September . The nail that has grown back is cracked on the top half and gets narrower as it gets to the top . The nail appears to be growing into the top of my toe where for some reason is higher than the nail bed but I'm not to Shaw . There is no pain at all . I really don't want it removed again what shall I do ?

Hello,

To help prevent an ingrown toenail:

-Trim your toenails straight across without any pointed parts near the edges.Dont trim it to short but at a moderate length
-Wear shoes that fit properly and don't wear socks or shoes when you're at home.
-Soak your foot in a mixture of hot water and salt everyday for 15min.
-Putting a small piece of cotton between your toenail and the skin should keep the ingrown toenail from coming back.
-Apply antibiotic ointment to the site and keep it bandaged.

Hope it helps
Kind regards,
