General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hot flashes in a man can be due to possible inflammation in the body or acute viral infection. As you just had knee replacement surgery, then, it could be related to medications they have injected or taken for the pain during and after the operation. However, to me, should check out in order to rule out post-operative infection or any other more serious health problem. Discuss this further with your caring doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
