Suggest Remedy For Gastric, nausea And Loss Of Appetite

my 14 year old (5ft. 5inch, 62kg)son has been prescribed cibis (once daily) and enterogermina (once daily) for his gastro problem. After one week medication now he is feeling nausea and loss of apetite. There is formation of gas in stomach also. Is it due to side effect of drugs? what extra medication can be given? can domperidone be given?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history about your son having gastrointestinal problems for which he is prescribed Ibis and Enterogermina.
These medicine are given to the patients suspected to have IBS meaning irritable bowel syndrome.
Since he has lost appetite and feeling nausea, I would advise to have all detailed tests of stool, urine and blood.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen and CT scan if required.
I think a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole should help him to have a control.
At the same time consult a Psychiatrist if needed be, if this turns out to be a IBS problem for counselling and therapy.
I find this answer helpful
