Suggest Remedy For Extreme Rectal Pain When Wearing A Foley Catheter

HI DOC. I M STARTING MY SECOND MONTH OF WEARING A FOLEY CATHETER AWAITING SURGERY. I DID A DIGITAL EXAM OF MY PROSTATE TODAY AND IT IS VERY HARD AND ENLARGED. I AM HAVING EXTREME RECTAL PAIN AND I WAS WONDERING IF I SHOULD EJACULATE? WOULD THAT RELIEVE THE PRESSURE AND PAIN? MY STOOL COMES OUT VERY SMALL AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING. MARK

Hello,

Being constipated may cause you the pain so you should increase fiber and water intake. Also, any fissure or other issues of rectum may cause. this pain. I don't believe that ejaculation may help. Use anti-inflammatory drugs such Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
