Suggest Remedy For Dizziness And Fluctuation In BP

I m 49 y/o/f on BP medication Benicar 20 mg once daily. I was high at 179/100 about 3 weeks ago. Now six weeks into taking the medication I have readings of 96/56 and 102/56 electronic calabrated machine with a pulse rate of 96 to 110. I am feeling dizzy. Should I be worried?

Hi,

Your diastolic pressure is a bit on lower side. Ideally it should be >60. Similarly, your pulse rate is also on a higher side. Ideally it should be between 60 to 90. These both things may definitely cause you to feel dizzy. Therefore, if the situation persists, then you are advised to see your doctor regarding this. He may prefer to reduce your dose of Benicar or replace this drug with some beta blocker, which may control your BP along with decreasing the pulse rate also to the required level.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
