Hello and welcome to HCM,
Before prescribing any medication for persistent headache it is important to find out the cause of headache.
Various causes of headache are-
migraine,
cluster headache, hypertensive headache, refractive errors of eye, raised intra-cranial pressure, intra-cranial space occupying mass etc.
Relevant investigations are required to rule out each of above mentioned causes.
Firstly a
CT scan of head is required to look for any space occupying lesion.
Visual acquity testing is required to check for any refractive error.
CSF examination may also be required.
Migraine is associated with an aura and sensitivity to bright lights.
Thus, I suggest you to first
consult a neurologist for further work up.
Treatment can only be planned after diagnosis is made after clinical assessment and investigations.
Thanks and take care
