Suggest Remedy For Burning Sensation With Pain Where Tragus Meets The Head
I've had trouble with my tragus for a few months now. It hurts where the tragus meets my head. If it's pushed there's a burning sensation. It becomes uncomfortable to lay down, because when I turn over I put stress on it by pulling it. Should I see a doctor? Is this serious? I've had no trouble hearing. But this pain is only on my left ear.
As per your query you have symptoms of burning sensation with pain when tragus meets head is because of that fact that tragus is mainly made of cartilageous tissue which is innervated by a branch of trigeminal nerve which extends up the side of head. Any inflammation in this area or pressure points to the tragus can cause referred pain because of the anatomical connection and it started putting pressure on adjacent areas and start giving symptoms.. Most likely Inflammation of soft tissue involving tragus, external ear infection there is a pain on pressing to pulling of the pinna of the ear and tragus.
I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once as it could affect your hearing as well. Pain which persists more than 5-7 days in the same area should be evaluated doctor. Take antibiotic medications to prevent infection and suppress it.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
