Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in a car wreck about 5 years ago and banged my left wrist on the dashboard (I was in passenger seat). I have two small bulging veins as a result that can sometimes be very painful ~ like right now. What can I do to ease the pain? I put a little bit of tape on it which eases the pain somewhat. Any suggestions? Thank You! BJT
As per your query you have bulging veins on wrist and it is paining . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like thrombophlebitis, pregnancy, older age, and congenitally defective valves in the veins. This could also occur due to tendinitis or hematoma after injury . I would suggest you to do stretching exercises of wrist and forearm , apply warm compresses and consult general practitioner for proper examination , because bulging of the veins can be a symptom of a serious condition. Doctor may order certain test like body vitals , x-ray of wrist and ECG . Doctor may recommend physical therapy of wrist or prescribe anti coagulant like heparin in case of hematome . Doctor may also refer you to specialist .
Hope your concern has been resolved .
