Suggest Remedy For Black Patch On The Forehead

hello dr prasad. I am tenzing from dehradun. I have recently developed black patch/spot on my forehead area and cheekbone area. this happened due to sun exposure and have been from last 2 years or so.... i had applied melalight cream for few months and had good effect but then i stopped it as i heard about its side effects. pls suggest

You are suffering from a condition known as melasma.The main aggrevating factor for melasma is sun exposure. Apply a sunscreen of SPF at least 30 over the exposed areas of the body 30 minutes before sun exposure. Oral anti oxidants can also be used. Avoid melalite cream for a long time as long term application can lead to side effects like ochronosis.Topical kojic acid is a suitable alternative. Regards.
