Suggest Remedy For Acne Break Out On Stopping Althea Contraceptive Pills
hi doc, i took althea contraceptive pills for 4 years and decided to stop it for 3 months now. my problem is i have these acne breakouts after i stopped taking pills, i think this is due to hormonal change/imbalance, how long does it take for me to endure all these break outs. thank you so much
Understanding your concern. As per you query you have acne break out on stopping Althea contraceptive pills which is due to hormonal changes in body and it is because of sebaceous gland under the hair follicle , when sebum get accumulated in clogged duct of sebaceous gland along with dead skin and bacteria they produce acne. You should get your hormonal levels monitored. I would suggest you to wash you face 2-3 times a day with mild soap and warm water to prevent the accumulation of oil ,dust and bacteria on your face. Keep applying Clindamycin gel. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products. Don't pick or touch acne. Apply kojic acid cream on face. If acne still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe ointments containing benzyol peroxide, azelaic acid or retinoids. Sometimes doctor may also prescribe antibiotics.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
