Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 24 and have a bigger tummy when compared to a normal (or flat) stomach. I am 5 8 and weigh 63 which I think is normal. I ve heard from one of my friends that a big belly can prevent pregnancy. Is this true.? I am not yet married and not physically active yet. So I don t know what to expect in the future (that is after I get married) Please give a clear understanding of this. Thank you.!!
I understand your concern. You seem to have a good weight for the height, so overweight does not seem to be a problem in your case. I am not sure how you determined that your belly is bigger than it should be, but in any case, if you want it to be flatter you need to change your diet and exercise your tummy muscles. Foods like fruit and vegetables, lean meat are what should be plentiful in your diet. Avoid grains as much as you can, but without completely eliminating them. There are many stomach muscle strengthening exercises that you can find only and if done on a daily basis they will produce results in 2 months. There is no association between having a lot of belly fat and falling pregnant. I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best.
