Suggest Remedies For Vomiting And Nausea Despite Taking Zofran
I am a family physician and have a dialysis patient with intractible nausea and vomiting. While Reglan and Zofran are effective, he vomits the oral meds almost immediately and injectables are not practical. I was wondering if there is an emetic which is dialyzable, hepatically eliminated, and available as a suppository or ttransdermal preparation?
As you are a doctor, I am giving this answer in a short. Firstly, I think, the cause of nausea and vomiting has to be derived and proper treatment to be given. In most cases, nausea and vomiting occur from dialysis due to low blood pressure. This has to be managed at first. Along with antiemetic may be prescribed. Surely, you can go for trans dermal preparation called Scopolamine patch.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
