Suggest Remedies For Severe Tooth Pain

Hi Dr Andrew How r u, Just a quick question I have a bad tooth ache and need a trip to dentist I don't have much pain relief products at home except paracetamol and ibrufen I was wondering as I have Valium and Xanax at home if it would numb the pain I am on sertraline 100 mg in morning and avanza 30 mg - half tablet at night would this work or potential drug interaction and yes I have had mental health issues which have been managed thanks John Aus.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe tooth pain which is mainly because of presence of infection in root canal area and it could be due to cavitated tooth and poor oral hygiene as well.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get IOPA done to check level of infection. You should not self medicate yourself as you have altered mental status as well. If it is there go for root canal treatment. You should do brushing and flossing twice daily. You should do warm saline gargles with antiseptic mouthwash. Maintain proper oral hygiene.
