Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A year ago I pulled the ligament in my right hip. Just recently it is causing pain. I can be walking and it would give out or I get shooting pains right at the top of my leg. It does not hurt when I am sitting, just walking. Should I use heat or ice? Is there any excercises that I can do to help.
Get MRI lumbosacral spine with MRI hip done to know your exact diagnosis.
Till then,
1. avoid forward bending or weight lifting
2. give hot fomentation to the affected part twice a day
3. use a lumbosacral belt if you have it
4. take tab gabapentin with nortriptyline.
Exercises what you should do depends on your exact diagnosis so don't do any exercise before your MRI scan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
