Suggest Remedies For Pain In Shoulder And Arms After Stretching Too Far
I was washing clothes in my niece s new washer and it was so deep, I couldn t pull the clothes out to dry without standing on my tiptoes and straining my arm to get the clothes out. The next day, I had pain in my shoulder and down my right arm and today it even hurts down to my wrist. What have I done, and what can I do to relieve the pain besides ibuprofen?

Hello, Thanks for your query.
It seems that you have suffered a sprain of the arm muscles during the workout. Such minor sprains usually take 7-10 days to resolve.
1. Give enough rest to your arm muscle. Avoid workouts and lifting weights with the arm till acute pain subsides completely. 2. Take mild pain killers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. 3. Stronger prescription NSAIDS with muscle relaxants may help if simple analgesics do not help. You can consult your orthopedician for prescriptions. 4. Hot compresses to your arm will be useful pain relieving measure. You may apply a local analgesic gel on that area. This should slowly subside with hot fomentation and proper relaxation.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
