Suggest Remedies For Eye Movement Disorder In An Infant

Talk to my grandson on Facebook today. He is 19 months. He started closing his eyes for a few seconds, then doing this again and again for a few seconds. I asked my daughter what that was and she said he just started doing this. I know it sounds normal, but it was not. I told her to try and record it and keep records of how many times it occurs. Not sure what to think about this. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Sir/Madam
Looking at the above symptoms it is suggestive of a condition called PTOSIS. PTOSIS is a condition in which there is abnormal drooping of eye lids.PTOSIS can be congenital or acquired, It may be seen in muscular dystrophy, Cranial nerve palsy, Myaesthenia graves etc. I would like to advise you to have a neurology opinion for better clarity.
