Suggest Remedies For Extreme Soreness In The Lower Back Post An Injury

I had been doing physical therapy for my lower back and coccyx and just fell down my carpeted steps hitting hard on my coccyx. Is there a chance that I did something worse or just a set back? Been icing for 2 days and gradually getting movement back but very very slow. Very very sore!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Thank you for your query. It may be that only the muscles have been injured due to the fall, nevertheless, i advise you to take an x-ray of the affected area(lumbosacral area) to rule out any possibility of fracture. For the meantime, you can take pain relievers such as Celecoxib 200mg 2x a day for pain and inflammation. If the site affected is bruised and swelling has subsided you may apply warm compress instead of cold compress on the area. Avoid lifting heavy objects and bending over. Visit your orthopedic doctor for further evaluation and management.

Hope this helps, a feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
