Suggest Remedies For Adverse Reactions Upon Taking Anti Epileptic Medication Without Food
I am currently taking vimpat 400mg/day. My neurologist said I really don't have to eat with it. However I am also taking another seizure med Lamictal...As well as Celexafor my depre3ssion and upon taking it without food I have some extremely adverse reactions- loss of coordination, dizziness. Do you have any suggestions ?
I double checked my books and there is no need to take your antiepileptic drugs with food. An interesting side note is that both Vimpat and Lamictal have dizziness as a side effect.
You did not mention what happens when you take your meds with food. If that solves the problem then that is what to do. Otherwise your doctor will need to look at your medications and see if any adjustments can be made to relieve your symptoms. I would try taking with food first.
Also, get up slowly from a seated to standing position so you do not risk passing out.
