Suggest Remedies For A Small Reddish Brown Tick On The Wrist

Can a tick get under your skin and reproduce there? Yesterday I had a small reddish, brown tick on my wrist and I pulled it out, but the head stayed in. I poured alcohol and disinfectant soap on it and tried to dig the head out with tweezers. But it swelled up and now it feels like there is something hard under the skin. What should I do now?

Hi,

The tics do not reproduce under the skin of humans generally. The hard lump can be due to the tick head still embedded in that area that can get encapsulated by the body cell or the immune cells and fibers leading to a hard lump.

But for a confirmation, you should consult an Emergency room and get evaluated so that the exact cause can be ruled out. For now you can apply Betamethasone ointment over it and do cool compresses over it. You should also avoid digging it now as it can further get inflamed and infected. Continue cleaning with alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
