Suggest Remedies For A Hard Lump Behind The Left Ear Lobe
Lump just behind my left ear lobe -doesn t move and quite hard. Had noticed it before about 3/4 years ago but it went or had shrunk to a un noticeable size however has seemed to become noticeable again. I had my upper ear pierced just a couple of days before I had noticed the lump and I think it got slightly infected. The place of the piercing was sore and swollen for about 1 week but has gone now. I now also have a smaller lump too just above on the hard part behind the ear that I remembered also to have had at the same time as the other a few years back. They are not sore to touch, the one behind the lobe was when I had the piercing (3 weeks ago) but not really now.

This looks like some benign subcutaneous lesion. In many cases, there are glands (lymph nodes) around and behind ears that commonly swell when you have a cold or sore throat.
More serious infections may cause the glands to enlarge and become very firm and tender. Also, considering your description this maybe some other benign subcutaneous lesion such as lipoma, fibroma or atheroma and if there are no skin changes such as redness, pus discharge or pain and fever then you should not be worried since it can be easily surgically removed under local anesthesia. Infections should be treated with antibiotics. If there is no improvement you should see ENT doctor.
